Does this still work with Windows 7?

Thanks.

smplayer-dev commented 6 months ago

Yes.

candrapersada commented 2 months ago

is it true that SMPlayer uses mpv 0.37 on Windows 7? image

harryray33 commented 2 months ago

Unfortunately, it appears that 0.37 isn't compatible with Win 7.

smplayer-dev commented 2 months ago

The mpv developers decided to stop supporting Windows 7, so now Windows 8 is required. But you can still use the 32 bit package, it contains an old version of mpv.

harryray33 commented 2 months ago

Thanks, is there any sort of performance difference between 32 and 64 bit?

Also' I haven't tried yet, but what if I use the latest version of the player, but replaced the MPV folder with the folder from an older version, would that work?

smplayer-dev commented 2 months ago

Yes, you can replace mpv with another version.

harryray33 commented 2 months ago

I'll give it a try, I'll move the folder over to the new version.

harryray33 commented 2 months ago

I downloaded the SMplayer Version 23.12.0.10266 (using it as portable, not installed). I replaced the MPV folder, from an older version, but got the same error message as one would get if running the newer version of MPV. Am I missing something? Thanks.

Have you checked if the path to mpv.exe is correct?
