Video Stuttering on XP #865

Describe the bug Playing back videos has heavy stuttering on Windows XP, particularly on older systems and 720p and higher. With Windows 7/Linux on the exact same hardware, the same video plays back butter smooth. I have tried this on many XP systems and always had the same problem.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior: Run SMPlayer on any XP era PC with XP installed, video will stutter.

Your Enviroment

Additional context I have tried using an unoffical XP build of a newer version of MPlayer to see if that happened to solve the issue but SMplayer seems to be incompatible with it, or maybe I'm doing something wrong.

Try a different video output in preferences -> general -> video.

Try a different video output in preferences -> general -> video.

I tried all of the different video output drivers and had the same issue on all of them. Something of note is that SDL, CACA and MPEGPES did not work for me. The video does not resize on SDL and CACA and MPEGPES show a black screen.

EDIT: Just dual booted this machine with Win7, tried with both MPV and Mplayer and can confirm there is no stuttering issue. Although, Mplayer causes the theme to change to Windows 7 Basic, whereas MPV works fine with Aero.

I don't have any machine with Windows XP so I can't test, but try changing options in preferences -> performance.
