To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Right Click
2. Video > stay on video while playing
3. Error Crash

This might be an issue with the X11 VO. mpv no longer recommends this VO.

The recommended VO with mpv is --vo=gpu. Other VO's are for compatibility purposes only. See this link: https://mpv.io/manual/master/#video-output-drivers

Or try putting the video output driver in smplayer to default, so mpv can pick a working VO for your system.
