I just added some patterns to the PG pattern but their description didn't show up

Did I do something wrong, or is there a bug? Or both? Thanks!

There isn't actually a description field in a pattern. What we display in the assessment form is pattern.title and pattern.synopsis, so if a pattern has no synopsis, all that will be displayed is the title. Looking at what patterns have been most recently added, I see two in the 'Enabling Patterns' language - with titles 'Accessibility' and 'Attitudes and Aspirations', and neither of those have a synopsis. In fact, of all the patterns in the system, those are the only two with a zero-length synopsis. In the pattern edit and create screens, we label the field "Brief description."

The screen show shows four patterns from Liberating Voices, but only one of them includes the corresponding synopsis. That seems like a gigantic bug, so I'm investigating that now.

While it's true that there are only a few patterns with a zero-length synopsis, it's also true that the majority of patterns - 111 of 167 - have a NULL synopsis. Technically, a NULL value doesn't have a length.

You seem to be adding the synopsis values to some patterns right now, so I think the "gigantic bug" wasn't real. I'll close this issue.

I don't know how to respond on github :-( but those descriptions had NOT been entered — which is why they didn't show up.

I've now entered all of the missing LV pattern descriptions.

The two enabling patterns were entered with only their name! I.e. I haven't added a description yet.

That is correct!

When you get back and the dust clears we need to harmonize the patterns and do some general refactoring work.
