I have this problem also. (Luckily, XLaunch has a feature called "squeeze" that
was somehow able to add it back
on. However, if I do ANYTHING inside of rSBT I lose the icon again.

i also have this problem in order to fix you have to uninstall customize
reinstall
rsbt put icon back then uninstall rsbt install customize but the minute you use
rsbt
in customize you lose the ipod icon again !!??

I have this same issue. as a temporary fix, I uninstalled customize, installed
xLaunch, and did the squeeze. I
uninstalled xLaunch and have been using dock (which is beautiful) as a launcher.
