Updates to Artena local plugin #1

Changes made to bring the Artena-Moodle plugin up-to-date with the 2.8+ and 2.9+ versions of Moodle, mostly fixes to deprecated code. May want to create a separate branch for these. May also want to update the versioning of each of the files to keep this version distinct. I welcome any tests/comments.

it looks like the majority of these fixes have been implemented already - it would be good if you could verify this and close this pull request if completed.
