304 game loading from NTFS #445

Issue? Dunno. Do I need help? Yes.

Have a 4.3u softmodded Wii...
wiiflow 304-249 loads and runs fine - sees all games on usb hard drive - lists
them all with their covers...games don't load though. when hitting "play" on
a particular game...it says please wait and goes right back to the game with
the "play" and "back" buttons within a second of hitting play the first time.
I have 249 r20 56 and 250 r20 57 loaded. Using a Seagate Barracuda 7200 RPM
1TB drive, NTFS formatted, 1 partition marked as primary and active. Hard
drive structure is drive:\wbfs\gameidfolder\game.wbfs which I assume to be
correct.

Again, maybe this is not a defect and more of a function of something I haven't
done yet to ensure wiiflow to work correctly. any help I can get I would
appreciate. you guys are doing a great job.
thanks

just curious how you added them to your drive?

this is most likely due to files with too many fragments, or too many splits.
Some applications do not preallocate space for files it will add, causing many
fragments to be created. Try defragmentting your drive, or re-adding them to
the drive with wii backup manager. Ive made some changes to frag in private
beta so it may help this situation if your problems arent too many fragments.

thanks all for looking into this. since it is an NTFS drive I simply dragged
and dropped from another NTFS drive that I have with games on it within xp. the
files are all wbfs files so I'm not sure what you mean by fragments. With me
dragging and dropping what is weird is all the files (source drive) I dragged
and dropped from work just fine with a wode and wodeflow setup. however the
target drive where all the copies of those files went just doesn't work with
wiiflow. Further, with me dragging and dropping I did not use wii backup
manager - i assumed I wouldn't have to since it was NTFS to NTFS (one of the
pros of making an NTFS drive). I will try this instead and let you know if it
works. thanks for all the suggestions.

I know this is probably a closed issue but I wanted to report that Wii Backup
Manager (V.0.3.6 build 48) did the trick as suggested. I wiped the drive clean
from all the copied files then added (transfered) the games from Wii Backup
Manager. All transfered games then worked. Thanks everyone for the
suggestion!
