OnePlus 9 Pro with LineageOS 20.0 for MicroG won't connect to car #12

Hello,

I did a clean install of Lineage OS 20.0 with Android 13 for Micro G on my OnePlus 9 Pro (LE2120). Did everything according to the manual (As a test, I did the same before on a Xiaomi Mi 8, also with Lineage OS 20.0 Android 13). The Mi 8 was connecting immediately to the same car, but no chance with the OnePlus 9 Pro.

Troubleshoot assistant stops at the point where it tests the available USB-protocols. See screenshot. Tried it with 3 different USB-cables. All of them worked with the Mi 8.

How to debug? Are there any log files or anything else I can narrow down the problem?

Thanks in advance!

+1. Same issue here. It was working perfectly with Android 12.

I myself did tests with an LE2123 (the EU version of OnePlus 9 Pro). I don't know with which car you are facing this issue, I myself wasn't able to make it work on a VW Polo 2021, but no issues on a Mercedes E200 2021. What I did was to manually restart the head unit (for a Polo and some other VW cars this would be ~10 seconds holding the power button till you see the VW logo indicating the booting process). You may hear a loud buzzing sound for a second, no worries. After that a reconnection fixed the issue. Before that I was about to end that phones life. Sometimes it's the cars head unit that's the issue, you can find many google results about this.

Oh and yes, other phones worked on the Polo too, the OnePlus 9 Pro needed a head unit restart I guess. Once even a Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite stopped working all of sudden (MIUI Official ROM). A restart fixed that one too. If you don't have a VW car I'm sure there is some hidden method to restart head units of other car brands. We think locking the car shuts down the head unit but as far as I'm aware it's getting in some kind of standby state for many cars.

Happy new year! Thanks for the comments. I have an Audi Q7 4M from 2016 and unfortunately restarting the head unit did not work for me. It keeps failing to establish a connection.
