Snakemake is set up to work with panoptes, but this is a flask application that would be run separately, and has its own models (and it doesn't make sense to run them side by side). I opened an issue https://github.com/panoptes-organization/panoptes/issues/130 because I think it would be really cool if both servers implemented the same API spec, and that way both could be used with --wgs-monitor at the correct port.

I'm not sure what panoptes wants to do about this - it feels like it's going to be very delayed. So I'll just close this and keep abreast of what they are doing.
