This is a backport of https://github.com/snapcore/pi-gadget/pull/43 to the 20-arm64 branch to keep the two architectures in sync.
I tested it locally and it was built via LXD with the right assets/packages, but I didn't test it on LP or natively, I assume that it should work fine since it's basically the same as the 20-armhf branch, just with arm64 -> armhf.
