Hit the close button and the app crashed with the debug report.
Prior to this I had:
Edited a file with several layers
Saved two of those layers as PNG, then closed that file
Open the two PNGs
Did zealous crop on one
Overwrite the PNG
Closed the file (ignored warning about unsaved file)
Zealous crop on second
Closed GIMP (ignored warning as above)
Crash happened
Both the cropped images are fine.
