When a user receives a photo or piece of media for the first time, a prompt could come up explaining where they can see that photo (their gallery). I do not have an iOS device, but my friends have reported not being able to tap on the photo to view it, although some are able to. There seems to be general confusion on iOS about where the photo is saved to and how they can then send it to someone else. When receiving a photo for the first time, this all could be explained in a prompt.
