[Feature Request]: Kandji 2 Snipeit #11812

Closed guy-tallon closed 1 year ago

guy-tallon commented 2 years ago

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

Populating Snipe-IT from the MDM server Kandji is not something that currently exists (as far as I know). The ability to automate that would be great. The Jamf and Mosyle scripts that exist do a great job of automating this.

It's especially great for new deployments of Snipeit and also for having a single point of truth (your MDM) to assign devices to users.

Describe the solution you'd like

Describe alternatives you've considered

Altering the current Jamf2Snipeit script to do this

Following, this would be very useful for us as well.

Kandji currently only integrates with Oomnitza: https://blog.kandji.io/how-mdm-and-it-asset-management-can-work-together https://support.kandji.io/support/solutions/articles/72000560461-oomnitza-integration

We currently use Zapier to connect Snipe IT and Kandji, using these Kandji endpoints: https://SubDomain.clients.us-1.kandji.io/api/v1/integrations/apple/ade/{{ade_token_id}}/devices https://SubDomain.clients.us-1.kandji.io/api/v1/devices

How MDM and IT Asset Management Can Work Together
IT asset management is a great tool for keeping track of a company’s digital resources. It's even more powerful together when you integrate it with MDM.

@snipe any update on this by any chance? 🙏

snipe commented 1 year ago

We're still working on it! I believe they're working on tightening up some of the documentation: https://github.com/briangoldstein/kandji2snipe

It will eventually live in our @grokability organization, not there, but I think Brian will just move it over to us once it's all set.
