sorry, it's not clear to me what is the issue the field is readable clicking on the icon, but I'm already trying a solution to show it clicking on it is this what you need?
Excuses for the late reply. As a global admin I missed the functionality of the padlock icons next to the encrypted fields. If I remember correctly, it was in use for non-admin users for some time, but as admin I wasn’t aware. Sorry, my mistake.

As of the v6.3.4 update all Encrypted Custom Fields are shown as asterisk, for super users with the 'View and Modify Encrypted Custom Fields' setting granted as well. When editing an asset record, the Encrypted Custom Fields text is show readable.
Caches have been cleared on both server and client browser.
Reproduction steps
Upgrade to v6.3.4, view an asset with encrypted custom fields.
Expected behavior
Encrypted Custom Fields should be readable for admins, according to the configuration in the group management settings.
