Newbie Question: Way to automate an export of ChromeBook devices from Google Admin Console and import to Snipe-It?

Hi there- I truly do not know if this is the right forum for this and I apologize in advance if I'm doing it wrong- I neither know how to use Github nor am clear on anything related to coding, I just know I have a question and don't know how else to get it answered.

What I'm trying to find out is if there's a way to set this all up so that information from the Google Admin Console can feed directly into Snipe-It. If the answer is yes, does anyone know how I could find out how to do this and/or is anyone interested in doing some contract work to do it for us? We're a public school network and clearly have a dearth of knowledge when it comes to these kinds of things, so any help would be much appreciated. Thanks so much!

WITH DEBUG TURNED ON, if you're getting an error in your browser, include that error
What specific Snipe-IT page you're on, and what specific element you're interacting with to trigger the error
If a stacktrace is provided in the error, include that too.
Any errors that appear in your browser's error console.
Confirm whether the error is reproducible on the demo: https://snipeitapp.com/demo.
Include any additional information you can find in storage/logs and your webserver's logs.
Include what you've done so far in the installation, and if you got any error messages along the way.
Indicate whether or not you've manually edited any data directly in the database

Please do not post an issue without answering the related questions above. If you have opened a different issue and already answered these questions, answer them again, once for every ticket. It will be next to impossible for us to help you.

I am in the same situation trying to get users and devices from GSE to Snipe-IT. At the moment the only way is by export from GSE, a bit of fiddling around i sheets, save as CSV, import in Snipe-IT.

Currently I am exporting from google using the GAM tool, into csv files, then uploading.

Just wanted to +1 this - syncing data from G-Suite / Google Workplace (as its called now) would be a killer feature. We have been evaluating a product called IncidentIQ that does this and for anyone with large scale deployments of Chromebooks it would be a big deal.

Integration with G Workplace is definitely a top priority. We have v5 golden master out now, we release this week, and then we can get back down to business. (Also we use G Workplace so not hard for us to test, yay!)

+1 as well.

I've already imported our (~ 45k) Chrome devices (and updated the devices on the Google side with the Snipe-IT asset tag as the assetid). The ideal situation would be an ongoing nightly sync to fill in some Google attributes into custom fields in Snipe-IT (lastSync, activeTimeRanges (most recent), recentUsers, etc...).

I've been testing the workflow on my end with a series of GAM invoked cronjobs and subsequent cronjobs running asset updates via artisan, and it works well enough; but it would be lovely to see Snipe-IT more aware of/participate with what's upstream.

A native importer is not on the roadmap here. You're welcome to use the API tho.
