Bulk removing company data #8496

Open loganhawker opened 4 years ago

loganhawker commented 4 years ago

Is it possible to remove company data from all assets? Other than through MariaDB. I want to let an Admin see all Assets in SnipeIT but only the Users in their company, since our assets are location agnostic. If you're an admin in a company can you see assets that aren't in any company?

Is this still relevant? We haven't heard from anyone in a bit. If so, please comment with any updates or additional detail. This issue has been automatically marked as stale because it has not had recent activity. It will be closed if no further activity occurs. Don't take it personally, we just need to keep a handle on things. Thank you for your contributions!

+1 This is still needed. It does not seem possible to bulk deselect an assigned company from bulk assets (so that the assets are assigned to no company).

Our default users are automatically imported with the default (no company). As such if assets are accidentally bulk assigned to a company, there is no way to reverse the mistake easily without having to individually remove the company from each asset.

Okay, it looks like this issue or feature request might still be important. We'll re-open it for now. Thank you for letting us know!

+1

We used to have separate teams tracking assets in our instance and used Company to hide/segregate assets, but we have since consolidated responsibilities and want to clear and delete all the Company records.

Looks similar to https://github.com/snipe/snipe-it/issues/4583 and https://github.com/snipe/snipe-it/issues/7892, so add another +4.

and another +1, for the the same exact reasons described above:
