Barcodes scanning wrong number #9877

Hello.

When scanning a barcode which I have printed with Snipe IT. Sometimes the asset tag is correct when scanning.

But, often it is not for example.

The tag is 00007 but when I scan it it scans as: 000000000079

Please advise on how i fix this?

This sounds like it could be down to the settings on your barcode scanner. Have you checked the scanner's manual to check it is not trying to automatically add leading zeros / format to a specific length/barcode type?

Also if they have been re-tagged recently, be sure to clear your barcode cache.
