Permission Denied : Unknown FFmpeg error

Hello everyone,

Everything was working great and when finaly the video has started to download then I got this error. Please help me, I am not programmer I just copied the steps and now I am stuck with this error.

If you can download other videos it may be that pound sign # in the title that can't be saved as a filename.

@lukaarma Do we include # in our sanitize method?

@snobu we are the one adding the # before the uuid, but it shouldn't be a problem...no OS that I know of prohibits using # in the filenames

You could always use the --template to remove the uuid and see if it's that, there should be a section in the readme with more details Sorry if I don't elaborate more but I have little free time and I'm on mobile

Right. @bhushanbhavsa try specifing a different output directory via -o parameter. See Readme for details.

@lukaarma @snobu Ran into this issue as well (first time), tried changing the title using -t but still got Permission Denied for all videos I tried.

Can someone walk me though all the steps you took before running destreamer? I am unable to repro this.

Before that i mean. Did you follow the Readme or did you get creative? :) by creative i mean using sudo to clone and install and then no longer using sudo to run.

I install it like 7month ago. I don’t remember how do i install it. I had been using it since the day I install it but 3 days ago stop working

Assuming Linux/Mac/WSL, check ownership of the directory you specify via -o.

Use chown to change ownership to the same user you run destreamer as.

@lukaarma I tried downloading videos again today, and this "permission denied" issue still persists. I am guessing that if our organization remove download permissions for the videos, we will run into this error (could be the new MS stream update). Could you try uploading a video and remove download permissions and try to repro this issue?

I was able to use destreamer a few months before (even on videos without download permissions), but I think MS fixed this somehow.

edit2: Finally figured out the problem! It was the antivirus (Avast) that was causing the problem, and disabling it works! (Maybe you can put this in the Readme in case other people face the same problem
