Hello Team.

I'm using MacType v. 2022.1 with turned on CleraType option.

mac

I tried to increase font thickness in startMenu (Win10) and, unfortunately, the result is not so good. Maybe you know how to make font bold?

Thanks

Try fiddling with values under DirectWrite section.

Try fiddling with values under DirectWrite section.

You mean these settings: [DirectWrite] RenderingMode=5 GammaValue=2 Contrast=0.8 ClearTypeLevel=0.6

Correct

The result is negative. Unfortunately, the DirectWrite option does not affect the StartMenu' panel

May I suggest you to use Open-Shell as a start menu replacement? Try it here: https://github.com/Open-Shell/Open-Shell-Menu

At least MacType works on the fonts there, the start menu in Windows 10 is that of "modern apps", meaning DirectWrite and it's just not the same.

Thanks. I'll try...

Because of how directwrite works, every time you modify a setting in profile, it won't be effective until you restart that application.
