Allow setting self-describing properties from any type of variable #27

Currently, it is possible to set the value of a custom self-describing property from a variable in a limiting way. We could remove this limitation to allow for use cases like setting the value from a variable that evaluates to an array of objects, similarly to what we do for context entities.
