backup.json is generated only when you "made a mistake while manually editing the saved data". This is clearly stated in the "Saving the data" section. As we want to reduce space consumption, we will not generate backups for successful launch and read of the save file. As the markup description of backup.json
is referenced, I think it is a stretch to say that "backup save file" can be misinterpreted as addressbook.json
.

Reason for disagreement: I maintain that the User Guide is not sufficiently clear that the backup data file is backup.json
under the Saving the data
section, however I accept that the severity is low. It should be noted that these two sections are actually separated far apart in the UG, so when the user reads the Saving the data
section header he will have no idea what backup save file
refers to unless he continues to read the FAQ
section.
