In social media and applications (telegram, discord, instagram, twitter), when it comes to words tagged with the "#", there are no spaces in between. We are trying to mimic the behaviour of such applications so that they are used to it, especially since the hashtag command will be in the format of #TAG. As having spaces in between words would cause systemic problems, we will say that this change would be a completely new feature and should be categorised as out of scope.

Reason for disagreement: The team should not use their technical limitations to claim that having spaces would cause systemic problems, this is a basic functionality that most teams were able to implement.
It does not make sense that the dev team is making a parallel between social networking sites and an organiser app for insurance agents considering these are completely different products with different goals. Furthermore, plenty of older insurance agents would not be familiar with these social networking apps in the first place.
It is essential to their value proposition to allow multiple word tags considering that they are so common (e.g. Health Policy, Savings Policy, Single Mother, even the tag Insurance Agent itself)

It makes sense for tags to be made up of multiple words (e.g. Property Agent)
