A little more:
The waters that spill off the Peninsula shelf sink down to a few hundred meters deep – the weakened stratification is clearest at about the level of the CDW, so, maybe 500m or so… but this process is also implicated in freshening the AABW that outflows across the South Scotia Ridge (only slightly, but noticeably), and that is deeper 1000-2000m….
As pointed out in another issue, we might want to distinguish these from the near-FRIS waters, or at least explore how the properties change with longitude.
