This is to examine where the vertical mixing.

However, this might suffer from the usual problem of "are the eddies included in the advective or diffusive terms?" This is determined by the temporal averages. The perennial eddy decomposition problem is back again.

In this way, the ECCOv4-r4 product might even be better. It is optimized to include the effect of all unresolved processes. Let's examine those fields first.

Too much trouble for our deadline. Let's just stick with Shenjie's observationally-derived estimates and go from there.

We might be able to back it up with something from Dave's model, maybe.
