in our timeline a war starts in 1816 caudillo Artigas in morden day Uruguay will be fighting a war against the uk of Portugal Brasil and Algarves Rio Grande do Sul is very much a borderland between the spanish colonies, the cisplatina, and Lusoamerica extremely native-influenced region tho the Charruas would still be a present people at that point in time and are probably deserving of being a microstate between the rio grande and uruguay up in Santa Catarina, it'd be nothing but the Ilha de Santa Catarina and greater Desterro colonized by Azoreans under the UKPBA the catarinense highlands would be mostly inhabited by Xokleng and Guarani peoples the Guaranis would be more centered up on modern day Paraguay, like in the Chaco, but i advise the Xokleng be represented as a microstate on the catarinense highlands. In our timelines they'd be under horrible raids by mercenaries but insisting on waging war against brasil all the way to the early 20th century. The so called "Bugres", the Xokleng people would mark Santa Catarina up to this day, if only in geographical names under a name that insults them. But they are what used to be a unflinching warrior people that at some point were poised to fight the colonial advances until the bitter end and probably eat the flesh of every enemy they'd manage to fell. peoples like the Charruas and Xokleng are not as numerous and prevalent as the Guarani but they were more actively resisting colonization at that time and were more actively dealing and suffering violence against colonial forces Santa Catarina would have its eastern coast under colonial control, the land beyond the catarinense mountain range would be inhabited by Xokleng and Guarani peoples. Lages being one of the few colonial settlements on the highlands, very much an outpost for the cattle rouad from Rio Grande do Sul to São Paulo. The catarinense far west would be historically influenced by the spanish colonies, ust like the RS. Santa Catarina had been very much invaded and dominated by the spanish around the 1770s. Southern Brasil in 1816 is very much still under partial control of native peoples, and uruguayans are very much about to fight a war that irl would result on the annexation of the cisplatina under Brasil.

or how the development of Gaúcho culture would be from both Luso, Spanish, and natives, like the aforementioned Charrua the Guarani too Gaúcho would be really coming together as acclimated and partially nativized people, in these decades before the Imperial Brasil started taking in Italians and Germans and other europeans to south brasil

Needs some provinces with Charrúa majority around norther Uruguay, Southern Rio Grande do Sul, East Entre Rios I dont remember the culture group of the Charrúa, I think they're cousins oof the Mapuche n other pampas and patagonia people MOSTLY get some Charrúa provinces in the pampas Dont necessarily push but have kaingang pops more up to the southeast Brasil, ans represent their xokleng cousins in the catarinense highlands (except for Lages, it was already colobized by then) Colonized* Im extremely glad you folks already knew the Kayapo and Kaingang were of the same group You could make the Xokleng just Kaingang pops, them being of so little presence beyond the history of Santa Catatarina and being so close (The Kaingang were the speakers that led to the Xokleng accepting peace with the brazilian government n settlers instead to dying fighting) Charrúa can not be axcepted culture for the League, or Uruguay either. They were vevery much rounded up and killed in ambush and invasion. Im gonna look if the Paraguay already had the acceptance for Guarani to the point of having as an official language like today
