It was mentioned in #7 . To implement this feature, it must overwrite quill built-in header blot. I have Implemented it in v1.1.9, but it's not a good idea, then I cancelled it in v1.1.13.

Maybe a better way to implement this feature is needed.

We really need a patch to allow lists (and multi-line) inside of table cells. In additional, ability to resize columns. We are offering bounty of $2,500 for this.

I am interested in doing this, but I need more details about your usage scenarios. We can communicate in more detail by email. Is it convenient for you to leave your email address here? Or email me to tell me more about the requirements. Such as:

  1. Is your rich text editor currently based on quilljs?
  2. Which version is it based on?
  3. Or can it start from 0 based on other open source frameworks... And so on.

@soccerloway I also need the functionality @djcurfew described. It seems like my options are to solve this problem using quill or find another rich text editor that can handle it out of the box (which I'm not sure exists). I'd like to collaborate on a solution or at least get your opinion on what is possible.

@kckolz I think a better way is to choose another rich text editor. In my opinion, quill's nested structure generation method is not very scientific. It needs to constantly detect the dom attribute and then merge it into the parent, and the performance loss is obvious. And complex structures like inserting lists in tables are very difficult to implement using container blot. If you must use quill, you also need to implement a list structure that can be inserted into and out of the table separately. Maybe you can try draft.js, prosemirror, slatejs (react).

In the 1.1.9 version of quill-better-table, I implemented the feature of inserting h tags into cells. But it is intrusive, and you need to modify the logic of quill's built-in header. So later I canceled this feature.

@soccerloway I'm interested in forking the quilljs delta format to provide for some slightly more predictable behaviour -- and lists inside tables.
