As Crystal is a spin-off from Strato, it's one idea to position Crystal as just a separated project.(A)
Among other ideas is to make Crystal as a generic metadata management software covering not only IaaS level storage services (Object, File, Block) but also datastores for Big Data (several software listed in the above article support HDFS). (B)
This is a question (or suggestion) rather an issue nor a feature request.
Talking about metadata management, there are several products including OSS and articles on metadata management software components, for example: https://pratikbarjatya.medium.com/top-5-open-source-data-catalogs-for-effective-data-management-5f86722e588e
Also, here is Strato support matrix. https://docs.sodafoundation.io/support-matrix/multi-cloud/
I was wondering what positioning we should take.

IMHO, small start (A) would be practical.
Any thoughts?
