Menus covers controls

While in the Visual Editor, when a text element is selected, a menu displays however it covered the controls and I can not figure out how to close the menu to get back to the controls.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior: use the visual editor and insert (Add) an Element-->Wordpress-->text widget

Expected behavior the menu to not cover the controls

What actually happens the controls get covered with a menu and there is no way to close the menu
