Make hand off sites really simple for low tech clients #1555

Describe the feature you'd like to see included in Oxygen. I want to see an Oxygen Built site be able to function (if designed by the developer) like a classic templated site in this respect:

A clear, detailed description of the feature you're requesting. If I have created several templates in a classic template site, the list of those templates are available in the Page Attributes list.

With Oxygen, if I create several templates, the list of those to use for a page / post are available ONLY if I have admin rights to the site.

With Oxygen 3.6 Alpha, once I set any abilities for a role, this list disappears. I know I can set a template to a Post, Page, a CPT but what if I want to make more than one pre-defined template available to the user for say pages?

Example: Maybe I want to say give a choice of more than one pre-defined header image that is full width?

Unless the header image is defined in the template, I can't create a block to do that! It will only be able to reside inside the content area. This means that if the client want to change the image for the default post / page template they must be able to:

What are the use cases for this feature? When I want to hand over a site to a client without any need to go inside Oxygen Builder to make template changes.

I don't want to even make Oxygen Builder part of their user experience because some clients are just not technical enough to deal with Oxygen Builder at any level, but they are able to recognize the ability to select more than one type of template for their page or post.

I want to hand over a very simple to manage site without having to know ANY Oxygen Builder but have more pre-created choices (created by me the developer) than one layout for a Page or Post. If they want more choices, they come back to me to build them for their needs.

Examples of this feature or functionality. Native Wordpress! and it's core templating system.

Then i guess if this is the way you would like this feature request made, then to make the feature really the most useful, it seems it would need the ability to allow for more than one template for a regular Page or Post as native WP does. These template choices would then appear in some form of a pick list.

Maybe this is already implied but I felt it useful to make that clear.

+1 100% the Template menu in the Page Attributes panel should have the available Oxygen templates. As of 3.5, the implementation is completely nonsensical and hostile to site editors. We shouldn't have to educate clients to ignore that field because it doesn't do anything.
