Run Oxygen with a theme (selectively enable one or the other depending on conditional logic) #553

Before everyone jumps down my throat on this one, please hear me out.... 😊

I'm building a SaaS and want to build all the pages for my app's custom functionality (eg. frontend dashboard pages) with Oxygen. The regular website building will be left to the clients and since I'm dealing with musicians, Oxygen isn't a good choice for that.

I'd like to use Astra Pro + Gutenberg for this. Astra has some very nice Customizer and Gutenberg integrations and a bunch of one-click starter sites. The whole experience is much more "Squarespace-like" for non-techies, which is what my clients need.

I posted this question in the Oxy facebook group and was told it's asked almost daily, so there seems to be a lot of demand for it? I haven't tried this plugin, but it looks like it can be implemented fairly easily: https://wpdevdesign.com/oxygen-theme-enabler-plugin.

Adding this functionality to Oxygen core would open up a lot of design options and give developers the flexibility to pick and choose where and when to use what. I also think this would attract a lot of new potential customers

It also helps in situations where the client doesn't want a full redesign or redo, so Oxygen can be used to build out a couple page while the site is active and using a theme.

Ditto. I would like to be able to add blocks created in Oxygen into Gutenberg-edited pages within my theme (Genesis in my case) where I currently create custom templates, use ACF, taxonomies, post types and would love the power of Oxygen's editor for layouts and blocks within the pages.
