Find Presenters for Nov. 18th #44

October's Neural Networks talk was great. Time to look for some presenters for November. To kick things off I am going to volunteer to present on OAuth 2.0.

Anyone else want to present? @aekeus, @RichardAyotte, @knicklabs, @controlz, @mcuznz

Sad that I missed the October talks - real life intervened.

I'd love to give a short talk on Symfony Event Listeners (I've done some pretty awesome stuff with them lately), but I may not have a chance to put it together before the 18th so it might have to wait for a future month.

What are others most interested in hearing me talk about?

  1. redshift (so you don't hurt your eyes while starting at a computer screen at night)
  2. lessons learned from using a standup desk + tips on how to get started
  3. weechat (IRC client for the terminal)
  4. productivity tips for managing a todo list

Or if none of these sound interesting, I have a few other ideas as well. Just let me know.

@dideler Productivity tips are always helpful, good to see how others manage their lists. Take could become a nice group chat/discussion afterwards. Also interested in hearing about the adventures with standup desk, moving soon so I'd be curious if you saw benefits and whether you'd recommend using one at home.

@fifteen3 I'm away all this week for a Conference, I don't think I can prepare something for next Monday, but I should have a nice collection of topics I could talk about at the next one and ones following.

@fifteen3 I'd be happy to speak about that, unless Rich wants too. I'd be really interested to learn about aspect oriented programming from @RichardAyotte though.

@knicklabs the stage is yours. I did a quick AOP presentation at DevTricks 1 and I tried to show the merits more than the tech but if there's interest in implementation and the inner workings of AOP then I could do something for a future DT.

Ok @knicklabs I added you to this list for next monday. @RichardAyotte I am looking forward to your next AOP presentation.

So far for next DevTricks, I have penciled in @mcousins-mrx (symphony event listeners), @controlz(mystery topic) and @RichardAyotte(AOP cont'd).

Damn, didn't even notice I commented from my company profile last time... ah well.

I don't think I'm going to have anything ready in time, to be honest... I've got some charity work I'm doing that's got priority right now.
