Based on the discussion in #44, we have:

1. Symphony event listeners by @mcousins-mrx
2. Building Prototypes using Ruby on Rails @controlz
3. Scraping web pages with Cheerio by @knicklabs

Proposed talks for DevTricks - Jan 20:

1. Aspect-oriented programming (AOP) continued by @RichardAyotte
2. Managing TODOs (productivity tips) by @dideler (presentation + discussion to hear everyone's tips)
3. ...

Areas for improvements:

• Should we stick with the monitor or use a projector?
• We need a better plan for having people find the place and getting in the building. We can always put up sticky notes with a number to call, but is there something better we can do?
• I'll bring a VGA cord just in case, as there wasn't one available last time.

I won't be able to demo Dec 16 but put me down for the following one.

Nick and I were thinking last DevTricks would be the last of the year, since this one is so close to the holidays.

I'm okay with either option. I used the above date because it's on the SN calendar.

@knicklabs do you still want to postpone?

If we have speakers and people going, I say lets keep it running. If anything, it could turn to DevTricks + Holiday Drinks @ the Merch.

I had just assumed that it would be hard to find people to demo; but seeing as how there are a couple lined up, I think we should just go for it. Like the idea of holiday drinks.

On an aside, I'd be happy to present "Scraping web pages with Cheerio".

I agree, I like that idea too. Also like that topic. I'll come up with some topics for my talk.

Thanks @dideler! I'm going to try to make the 16th, then after I see how it goes I can think about possibly presenting in january or a future date

@dideler I'll see what I can do for getting a projector for Monday. Also agree about getting people into the space. Sticky note is a good idea for now... but I agree we need to think of something better.
