I think this could work now for testing purpose but definitely not doable in the future. The requirement file should be specific for each document. I think we should find a way to automatically create new repositories for new submissions. Any thoughts on this?

I agree, and perhaps it would be good idea to look at the Journal of Open Source Software to see how it could be done. But for now lets just keep it simple for testing the potential of using nbconvert and pytest to check for reproduciblity.
