I've got a very basic version of this working, using difflib.HtmlDiff, and I'm 
hoping to clean it up in the next few days.

This issue was updated by revision 2e810f8135cb.

Improved diffing, though still rough: HtmlDiff, which generated a side-by-side 
table has been replaced with other difflib-based code that assembles a single 
view with insertions and deletions.
