Can't set wallpaper #2

Open debu-chocobo opened 2 months ago

For some reason when I set a theme the wallpaper goes grey and I can't change it unless I set the theme back to "Adwaita empty". I'm using Nordic blueish accent.

Thanks very much for any help.

@debu-chocobo How are you setting your wallpaper ?

sohomdatta1 commented 2 months ago

Your wallpaper should be set using gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.background picture-uri 'file://.../.../' and should be separate from this tool unless your wallpaper is in one of the directories this tool touches.

I tried your command:

gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.background picture-uri 'file://home/chocobo/Pictures/snow.jpg'

but it just stays grey, which it seems to be inheriting from the theme.

Interestingly, when I change something like the scalling, gnome reloads, and the wallpaper is in the background for a split second, but then is replaced by the grey background.

@debu-chocobo Which theme are you using?

debu-chocobo commented 2 months ago

Nordic bluish accent. Just tried Nordic Polar, but same situation.

Seemed to be caused by the desktop icons extension. I've just disabled Desktop Icons (NG), and the wallpaper shows.
