Per #26, dynamic class properties are deprecated in PHP 8.2, so this change should address deprecation notices like the ones we see there.
Explicitly use root exception
Fix internal spelling inconsistency with seperator/separator

I'm not set up to test this, so can you take a look when you get a chance @sol1-matt ?
