Better error messaging when back-end requires different JSON schema version than current #163

Right now if the back end requires a different version of the json schema than what the CLI is currently producing, the error message is not particularly heplful. This should be a better experience for the user.

Turns out this is not quite what I had though it was. Closing for now.
