I have a question regarding the principle behind assigning types to entities.

When designating types, I’m curious about the underlying system you used. Given the vast variety of tags available in Wikidata, it seems unlikely that this was done by simply searching for tags. Could you elaborate on the approach or system that was applied to manage this process?

This paper is a early work and I cannot fully recall the details. As I remembered, the tags in Wikipedia can be organized in a tree-like manner. We collected the top-level tags, and manually choosed prominent tags to build the NEL typing system.
