Brisk Menu 0.5.0 and Kali Linux

Kali Linux I installed the following packages

sudo apt install mate-desktop mate-desktop-environment mate-applet-appmenu mate-applet-brisk-menu

and copied over the mate-panal layouts from a ubuntu-mate install running in a VM which gave me these files

in a seperate terminal I ran

mate-tweak --layout mutiny

now I have a semi unity looking desktop in kali linux https://i.imgur.com/bY4dgSL.jpg

except for 1 issue when I click on the brisk menu it takes up the whole screen

Not sure what mate-tweak has to do with Brisk Menu. Closing, but pinging @flexiondotorg if he wants to take this up further

MATE Tweak enables the dash launcher when Mutiny layout is selected, so the behaviour observed by @CanadianJeff is correct.
