Yeah .. it is (inspired by KRunner), it also got some code, but never really released. It was discontinued in favor of new (at-that-time-incoming) desktops, such as gnome shell, unity, and so on...

But I still like that idea for a tiny launcher ..

I'd like to merge some of your design decisions I think.. will take a little while as I need to work out how to make it work in our context :)
