Alt+F2 requires user to wait before inputting #1104

Solus 3 64-bit Budgie 10.4

When using a launcher like KRunner, Kupfer or similar, a user can very quickly launch applications with a few keystrokes. i.e. if I want to launch Firefox, I would hit Alt+F2, f, i, Enter - all in less than a second, knowing that the launcher will catch up and launch the program when it's ready. (Also because those programs learn effectively, as outlined in #840.)

However, in Budgie I am forced to wait until the launcher is ready before it will accept my input. So if I try typing Alt+F2, f, i, r, e, f... then the launcher will have missed the first couple of letters, and the dialog will show "ref" or maybe "iref" if it's feeling snappy. Obviously this doesn't result in Firefox being displayed as an option, and I then need to re-type the word.

Would it be possible to alter the behaviour so that it captures any input the moment Alt+F2 has been pressed? (Even if it can't process that input immediately)

Current workaround: Cerebro works well on Solus for now (with a small tweak)

Can someone revisit this issue? I'm quite new to Solus so i'm not sure how slow it was around 1.5 years ago.

Today it has a problem where it just feels to slow if i click alt + F2 (i've remapped it to alt + space) it often misses the first letter i type of the program.
