Autostart issues (guake) #1380

Operating System: e.g. Solus 3.999 Budgie version: i.e. Budgie 10.4, Release 150

The issue encountered Got 3 Solus installations (2xBudgie, 1xPlasma). The Plasma and a Budgie version don't autostart guake terminal anymore since the last update. I add it to autostart apps but it doesn't keep the setting. I can execute guake manually. Strange thing: guake and guake settings are missing proper icons in the start menu. My machine at work does start guake automatically even though it isn't set up neither in the budgie autostart settings nor manually in guake itself. Steps to reproduce the issue Add guake to autostart -> gets lost.

I am also having this issue. I add Guake to autostart, and it works after the first reboot, but after that it no longer appears in the autostart settings.

I'm on Arch.

No idea on how to fix it ?

bobblkabb commented 6 years ago

ok. Propably hadn't updated my machine at work. Got the the same problem.

fossfreedom commented 6 years ago

If the problem occurs on both plasma and budgie then this sounds to be a guake specific issue ... the version on Solus?

Has anyone raised this on the guake issue tracker?

I'm not sure this should be closed because it doesn't just affect guake, but any program one is trying to autostart in budgie.

Manually adding the .desktop file (or symlinking, in my case) in ~/.config/autostart does not persist through reboots; wouldn't that indicate a budgie issue?

bobblkabb commented 6 years ago

Status: doesn't work on Budgie but works on Plasma.

I've found if I set guake to autostart within its own settings, it's added to Budgie's autostart and that is maintained through reboots...
