What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. sudo apt-get update
2. sudo apt-get upgrade
3. sudo apt-get install gnome-colors-common

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The expected output is a string telling that all packages have been
upgraded. What I get is

zyv@mypride:~/Desktop$ sudo apt-get upgrade
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
The following packages have been kept back:
  gnome-colors-common
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 1 not upgraded.

zyv@mypride:~/Desktop$ sudo apt-get install gnome-colors-common
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
  gnome-colors-common: Depends: gnome-icon-theme (>= 2.24.0-4) but
2.22.0-1ubuntu2 is to be installed
E: Broken packages

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Latest packages from the official Gnome Colors PPA, Ubuntu Hardy 8.04 LTS,
fully updated.

Please provide any additional information below.
As far as I can tell this is somehow directly related to the problem?

The problem is not connected to the link you added to this bug report.

The problem is, that the new PPA package depends on a newer version of
gnome-icon-theme than you have installed. You have 2.22.0-1ubuntu2 installed,
but at
least 2.24.0-4 is required.

I will remove that dependency and upload it to the PPA. Stay tuned.

I think setting the dependency to 2.22.0+ should be fine. Hardy's
gnome-icon-theme
should still be inherited correctly.

The dependency on 2.24.0-4+ was for registering the alternate start-here icon
(the
versions before did not allow replacing the icon). Now I am using the branded
installation for the PPA (because the gnome-icon-theme package of
hardy,intrepid and
jaunty do not have a mechanism to select the start-here icon).

The bug is fixed with the currently building gnome-colors 5.3-0~ppa2~hardy1.
