There is a lot of KDE icon themes with additional folder icons for
categorizing content (usually its just a folder with category emblem in the
corner or inside folder) such a photo, music, games and etc.

It would be great if you, guys, will made such icons in gnome-colors icontheme!

These icons would be quite useful in KDE. But if you're using GNOME, I would
suggest
that you use the included emblems instead.

GNOME handles icon replacement for files and folders quite badly. For example,
it
doesn't look for the same icon in different sizes so the icons will scale badly.

It'll take some time before I can get to making regular updates, I'm still a bit
overtaxed due to college and work. folder-xdg icons are on my TODO list, but as
I
mentioned, it'll take some time.

@mrbzzt
Yes, the emblems are currently the best way to go. However, I think he meant how
newer GNOME releases will use folder-xdg icons (for example, an icon called
folder-downloads for folders named "Downloads") and apply them automatically,
without
having to set emblems. It's very well worth it to draw these icons, so once I
get the
time, it should be a priority.

XDG folder icons are now committed in SVN.

These new icons should fix this bug.
