The close icon in Pidgin's new email notification is too big

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. receive an email with an active account in Pidgin
2. hover over the notification
3. notice the "X" icon

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
An "X" icon with the right size

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Shiki 3.9.1. The same goes for older versions

Please provide any additional information below.

Should be a Pidgin issue. I just tested this with the default gnome-icon-theme 
and
Clearlooks theme, but it also happens there. Pidgin just wants to use an 8px 
icon for
that action, but the smallest icons that either gnome-icon-theme or 
gnome-colors have
are 16x16px.
