Inactive windows with the striped metacity look awkward #95

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. use the striped metacity
2. compare the window borders of active and inactive windows (without menu
bars)
3. notice that the window title and buttons aren't centered

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
A metacity which also has a stripe in inactive windows. Probably, the
stripe should be greyed when inactive or something like that

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Shiki-Colors 4.3

Please provide any additional information below.

I'll look into redesigning the striped metacity. Currently, I'm a bit stretched
out
redoing a bulk of the icons... Once I'm done with that, I'll start with the
striped
metacity. It'll still probably take some time after that, as everything has
moved to
SVN and until the makefiles and other distribution scripts are done and
commited, I
won't be able to make a release.

I'll keep this issue open and write back once everything is settled.

Alright, now subversion is set up and I've finished working with the icons and
the
GDM's. I'm starting to work on Shiki, I already added XFWM's for the Dust
theme. I'll
start working on this issue later, I think adding a stripe to inactive
shouldn't be
too hard.

Ok, I just tested with an inactive stripe and the whole desktop just looked..
cluttered. Only one stripe is best. Perhaps I'll try to figure out some other
method
to make the perceived button offset less noticeable, but I don't think It'll
make it
for the next release.
