This allow users to change settings.ini and keep their skin up to date via git pull. With this solution, both users and developers can have their own local modifications to settings.ini as well as the defaults. The changes to your local copy won't be pushed to the repo (in dev case) or overwritten by a pull (user case).

I'm confused...Ignore me. I did this from inside GitHub for Windows.

You should rebase your codebase to the latest commit and then create a PR with your changes. From the description it's a very valuable contribution, don't give up. :)

Lol. I selected the wrong thing from GitHub for Windows. Ignore this, it was an error. I had several issues before I switched from CLI, and then I was looking for a way to submit a pull request from the GUI instead of opening the browser again...
