cannot get past authentication step. #271

Once I open pidgin and try to enable twitter i.m, It reads "mr_skeetworth 
disabled - Authentication error", 
1. I tried removing the account and re-adding and it still doesn't work.
2. I tried adding @ to the username and it read " @mr_skeetworth disconnected - 
Unable to connect to mr: SSL Connection Failed"
3. I dont know what else to try, ive had trouble with the twitter protocol 
plugins as well, cannot succeed and ive tried and tried.

 On what operating system? latest Pidgin 2.10.7 (libpurple 2.10.7) , Microsoft Xp home edition version 2002 service pack 3 , Firefox.

this is because Twitter moved to their v1.1 API and turned off the old v1.0 
API. See issue 269
