Would you consider to (also?) license your project under a permissive license, such as MIT or BSD 2-clause?

It's something I have to think about. As a general rule, except for a few projects, I release everything using the GPLv3 licence. I guess you're asking because you want it to be available on Hello, but I've seen that it includes other software under the GPL licence, like Audacity and OBS (boot under version 2 of the licence) or FeatherPad (under version 3).

Thanks for considering a permissive license.

As for helloSystem, being a FreeBSD based system we aim to use permissive licenses wherever possible. While we cannot replace large existing applications like Audacity and OBS easily, we try too choose permissive licenses for everything we are creating from scratch and pick/contribute to applications that are under permissive licenses whenever we have a choice.

As for Python-based applications, it is mainly a philosophical question anyway given that it is an interpreted language, so the source code of the application is what gets shipped to the user.
