This PR

• Updates the gradle wrapper to use gradle 8.8
• Updates to Java 11
• Updates to Nexus Java API 5.1.2-01
• Drops shadow plugin
• Updates CI (CircleCI and Github Actions) to work with Java 11 and new integration tests.

• Fixes #146 , #147
